Hello!
When first starting quizzing, I didn't have any idea of what to do, or how to study, so I just read. And read, and read some more. And it served me well, but reading isn't the only thing you should do, because you get burned out faster that way, because to be honest, it gets really boring after a couple months (or weeks...). So over the past two years, I've experimented, researched, and learned a lot about studying for practices, local quizzes, invitationals, and regional quizzes, and here's some of the things I wish I would have done as a novice quizzer.
Having those things out of the way, here's a checklist for a novice quizzer, for their day to day studying, that I've made, that will help create a habit of getting in the word everyday.
Of course, adjust this to your own preference, but these are my default studying activities, and are good and straight forward for the newer quizzer. For a new quizzer, 15-45 minutes a day, is great! They will be able to get some jumps, and probably place pretty well at quizzes (depending on the level of competition of course). Just remember the difference between hard and light studying, because that it vital. Thanks for reading Keep calm and quiz on (and out)! Your fellow quizzer, Mallory

Hey guys!
Since quizzing is a pretty big part of my life, it effects the rest of my life as well. I heard someone talk to their quizzers once, about how they had seen them grow throughout their years of quizzing, and how it had worked it's way into their personalities, and it's completely true. "One does not simply quiz, without quizzer-ing". This doesn't necessarily mean that we turn into a bunch of nerds (which isn't a bad thing), but just letting the positive experience of quizzing make an impact on out normal, everyday life; how we interact with family, friends, and strangers, how we react to things that happen to us, or to other people, what we choose to amuse ourselves with (books, movies, video games, etc..) in our free time, our spiritual walk with the Lord, and our thought life. What you think, becomes what you say and do, so be careful what you choose to think about. There's a reason Paul put a lot of emphasis on being Spiritual minded, and not carnally minded. (Romans 8) I know it might feel a little overwhelming, so here's just a couple simple, practical ways you can begin to let quizzing make a positive impact on the rest of your life.
That's just a few, but there are innumerable ways you can use quizzing to stand out in your life, you just have to figure it out, and go for it. It's not easy, and it doesn't happen over night. But we do need to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, as Paul says. And that happens, by being Spiritually minded. One of the ways we can do that, is by letting quizzing effect us more than just in our study time, and do what it is supposed to do: help us along in our Spiritual walk. Thanks for reading guys! Since we are starting to move on to a new book in the GEPCP year, I thought it'd be cool to do a kind of summary of Galatians with some of it's (IN MY OPINION) key verses.
Keep calm and quiz on (and out)! Your fellow quizzer, Mallory Hey there!
If you've been to a few quizzes, you've probably noticed that quizzers are typically a little... well... quirky, and that's not a bad thing. We have fun! :D So I just wanted to take a minute to kind of chill, and just talk about some fun little things that quizzers do.
Being a quizzer is a lot of fun, simply because we can be weird and be kids, without a lot of the pressure from being thought bad of. Spending so much time in this kind of environment has done a lot for me, and my parents have commented on occasion how they saw such a dramatic change in me shortly after I started quizzing about two years ago. If I would have kept on the road that I was on, then I'd be in some bad stuff by now. Quizzing is a really great ministry, and I can testify from personal experience that it literally changes lives. And at the perfect time too, when teens are in the midst of becoming who they are meant to be. AND plus it's just a ton of fun making new friends and competing against people from all over the country, and playing games with God's word :P Thank you for reading!
