Hi guys!
If you're like me, then you've probably had to go though some readjustments throughout the season of quizzing, maybe even this early in the year. For me, it typically happens when I'm not pleased with my performance, and I know I can do better. Having to readjust isn't a bad thing, it helps you grow and become a better quizzer. However, too many readjustments could lead to a burn out, but that's not what we're going to be talking about today. I'm always making some kind of change to my routine, just to keep it fresh, but implementing an adjustment like I'm talking about, takes a lot more effort, but also has much more profitable results. These are some things that you should probably steer clear of, when making adjustments to your quizzing:
Making adjustments should be an inspiring and motivating process for you, and only serve to make you better, and look forward, and not condemning or beating yourself up about how you've done previously. Here's some things to keep in mind when you're making adjustments:
Picture readjustments like a sigh; a psychological reset of the brain, a sunrise, or something like that. A new beginning, or an extra push in the right direction, your second wind, etc. I believe in us, we can do it ;) Looking forward to seeing everybody at the next quiz, but until then... Keep calm and quiz on (and out)! Thanks for reading. Your fellow quizzer, Mallory

Hi everyone!
This weekend, I went on a 1350+ total mile road trip with my team. I'm sure most of you have experienced this, and are aware of how strange it can get, so I'm not going to go into all of that :P But I am going to give you some ideas on how you can survive a road trip like that with your team real quick. Things to do by yourself:
Things to do with your row in the van:
Things to do with the whole group:
And obviously, sleeping is also a good pass time in the car. Now I'm gonna talk a little about the quiz itself that we went to. As always, it's a ton of fun seeing everyone again, even if they're not from the same region. I really like getting to know people from all over the country, and see how their study and practice has gone since the last quiz. It's very exciting to see quizzers start to really step up and work super hard, and become one of the best. Healthy competition is vital in quizzing. And plus, it shows and reminds me how much i need to work to help out my team. Here's a couple specific things that I learned at this quiz:
Well anyways guys, I had a lot of fun on this quiz trip, and it just reminds me how much I'm blessed to be able to compete in something so healthy for not only my brain, but for other skills that quizzers develop, Godly, and that allows me to travel places, and meet all sorts of cool people from all over the country. It's amazing. Looking forward to the Top Ten quiz next month, and can't wait to start getting ready for it! See you guys there! Thanks for reading. Keep calm and quiz on (and out)! Your fellow quizzer, Mallory Hey guys!
I know that even a couple months into the quizzing season, it can begin to be a battle with yourself to sit down and study everyday, and it really helps if you're good and motivated. I am obviously still working on this, but I've learned a couple of things that I'd like to share. So here's just a few ways to keep yourself motivated during the beginning of season "why am I doing this?" faze.
I hope that helped you guys a little, and that you find your motivation to keep on being the awesome, growing quizzer that you are! The season is only just beginning, we have time to get ready to do our best at the big tournaments later this year. BUT in order to make it easier for ourselves when the time gets shorter, we need to be getting into the groove of quizzing skills (keeping motivated, knowing study techniques etc.) again, now. And guess what.... we can do it. Thanks for reading! Keep calm and quiz on (and out)! Your fellow quizzer, Mallory |
