Hola readers!
As a continuation of yesterday's post (New season plan - Step 1) we are going to be talking about the planning part of getting ready for the new quizzing season. Today we're going to be working on "setting new goals, and steps to achieving them". Before we begin, ask yourself the following questions (you may want to follow along with a piece of paper, to get the most out of this post);
Got all that? Great! Now we can move on. There are only three main goals that you need to decide upon;
Pretty simple. Since we've answered all the questions above, we probably have a good idea about how hard on ourselves we can be this season, right? Don't compare your goals to anyone else's. Its not fair for either of you. Here's an example of what your new season resolution main goal list could look like;
They don't have to be profound, meaningful to your friends or family, or unattainable, but they do have to mean something to you, they have to be exactly what you truly want, and what you believe you can do. Don't doubt yourself, you're better than you think! Re-cap: Get to know yourself and your quizzing/will power abilities, before you begin to set goals and plans. Make only three main goals, to keep things clean, organized, fresh, and simple. Keep your goals in a frame on your wall, or somewhere that you'll see it everyday, to remind you of it. And last but not least, REMEMBER THAT ALL YOU CAN DO IS YOUR BEST That's usually a comforting statement for when someone does badly, or whenever they're nervous about how they will perform. But I see it as a huge encouragement. "All you can do" means to me, that, if you honestly do your very best, (which not nearly everyone does) then you'll do well. Your best, can beat people when they're only putting in 60%. Apply yourself to something 100% and great things can happen! Don't forget to always remember the real purpose of quizzing. Its awesome that we get to have so much fun playing games with God's Word, but its even more awesome, that we'll be learning a good part of it extremely well, in this next year. Let's remember to thank God, for all of this that we get to experience through quizzing. Man... getting all emotional already and the season hasn't even officially started yet. But that's okay, 'cause I know that we, as quizzers, will make this one of the most memorable seasons yet! Thanks for reading. Your fellow quizzer, Mallory

Hey everyone!
I don't know about you guys, but one of the most exciting parts of beginning a new quizzing season (or re-focusing in the middle of one...) is setting goals, and planning, and getting pumped for everything that we are going to either improve on, start, or stop. However, eventually the initial goose bumps wear off, and we are left with the vague list that we had written, that we are supposed to follow. And I don't really want to go through that confusion, discouragement, and waste of time again this year, so how about we do something different, sound good? Well one of the first, simple things we can do, is get organized. Setting up a plan for your quizzing season is a big deal, especially if you already know what you want to accomplish, based on your (and everyone else's) performance last season. Make a To-Do list of everything that you need to do, to make sure that you're ready to go when the quizzing season starts back up in a few weeks. Here's kind of what mine looks like, to give you an idea of what I'm talking about: TO-DO, QUIZZING PLAN 2015-2016:
See? Its not that long, and it's straight to the point, checklist of everything that needs to be done. So as a starting point, write out your own To-Do list, and we'll see what needs to be done from there, in order to complete our quizzing plan for the 2015-2016 season. As always, thank you for reading. Your fellow quizzer, Mallory Hi again everyone!
Now that the 2014-2015 Acts of the Apostles quizzing season is officially over, we can enjoy a long awaited break, and relax. Although we're sad to see it go, and with all of the tears of the seniors and their friends and team mates, we're pumped for the next quizzing season, of 2015-2016 Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon. GEPCP being about HALF the size of Acts, we are very excited to finally be able to dive into the material! Now before we get started with all of the excitement of next season, lets take a minute to breath, reflect, and day dream. As one of our first goals for next season, I would encourage all of you to invite five of your friends to come and try out quizzing, even if for only one practice. You never know what might happen. Anyways, thank you, and have a fabulous day! Your fellow quizzer, Mallory |
