Hi everyone!
I know it depends on the quizzer, but it can really get difficult sometimes to be the best you can be in quizzing, and still do everything else in your life that you need to do. Sometimes there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. Well here's some tips to keep in mind when you're feeling flustered, or pressured, or just a mess at everything because you just can't balance your commitments.
Well, i hope that helps you some. Remember, nothing is too small to pray about. God wants to hear from you, and He wants to help you along, if you'll let Him. Thank you for reading. Keep calm and quiz on (and out) -Your fellow quizzer

Hi guys!
I know not everyone attempts to do 'memory quizzing' but for those who are, or are thinking about starting to, i'm gonna talk about them today. Memory verses are nice because there are a specific number of them, and then once you finish memorizing them, it's done and all you have to do is review them. There are eighty-six memory verses this year is Acts, and that is a good average number for quizzing. There are lots of ways that you can study memory verses, since they are short-most of the time anyway-and you just have to know them word for word exactly right, unlike the according to quizzers who have to know them inside and out in order to come up with all of the possible questions for that verse. Here are some ideas for the memory verses;
Anyway, those are just a couple ideas, but there are tons of others just waiting to be discovered and tried out and rated by you! Good luck with the memory verses! Thanks for reading! Keep calm and quiz on (and out) -Your fellow quizzer Hello everyone! At the last quiz i was at, i tried out a system that i wanted to give to all of you if it worked-and it did, with flying colors :-) My prototype was just written in a little note book, so feel free to do that and/or make your own version of it. But here's one that i made for you that's a little bit more professional.
And since the way i tried to give you something like this last time didn't really work all that well, i'm going to try it this way. They are made so that there are four sheets per page of paper, to save ink and paper and make it more mobile. It would be cool to keep all of these after each quiz and put them in your study binder, so that you can look at them afterward. (The 'Q#' is for what question number you got out of the quiz on. I.e. quizzed out on the tenth question, you would put a 10 there. And the 'QZ#' is for what number the quiz is out of the year-pretty self-explanatory :-))
Hope you have fun with your personal score cards! Thanks for reading! Keep calm and quiz on (and out) -Your fellow quizzer Hi everyone!
This is the next section in the book of Acts, that i'm going to be going over today. Chapter 1, section 2 (using the NIV 2011 version; specifically used in Nazarene teen Bible quizzing.) Act 1:12 Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s walk from the city. Act 1:13 When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. Act 1:14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. Act 1:15 In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty) Act 1:16 and said, “Brothers and sisters, the Scripture had to be fulfilled in which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus. Act 1:17 He was one of our number and shared in our ministry.” Act 1:18 (With the payment he received for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out. Act 1:19 Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.) Act 1:20 “For,” said Peter, “it is written in the Book of Psalms: “ ‘May his place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in it,’ and, “ ‘May another take his place of leadership.’ Act 1:21 Therefore it is necessary to choose one of the men who have been with us the whole time the Lord Jesus was living among us, Act 1:22 beginning from John’s baptism to the time when Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness with us of his resurrection.” Act 1:23 So they nominated two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias. Act 1:24 Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen Act 1:25 to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.” Act 1:26 Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles. There are no memory verses in this section. In this section of Acts, the author is telling us about what the apostles did right after Jesus went back up to Heaven from them just a few verses ago. They are meeting with a lot of other believers in the upper room, and they're praying, and eventually (in those days) Peter stands up and says that they need to pick a replacement to lead the ministry of the word of God, that Judas had. In this section is one of the popular verses that people use to say that the Bible contradicts itself. It's verse eighteen. they say that this is something different from what it says in Matthew i believe it is, of how Judas died. But if you look at them without any bias, then the true answer becomes clear-they aren't contradictions. I would encourage you to look at these, and find out for yourself what you think about this. Anyway, then they nominate two men whom i'm guessing that they all knew quite well-since they were nominated in the first place-and then they pray to God that He would pick the right one, and then they do a random selection activity, that they called casting lots, and the lot fell to Matthias, and so he was added to the eleven apostles, and took Judas' place in the ministry. Challenge: Act out this section with your friends or by yourself, word for word with props and film it so that you can watch it over and over again, to study. Thanks for reading! I know how hard it can be to be hard on yourself to stay consistent in you studying during all of the festivities of the winter holidays, and so far i'm not doing a very good job, so don't feel alone if you are. With all of the fun stuff, and family, and things to do, there just doesn't seem to be a time or place for studying Acts in our lives right now, does there? It can seem like we're being rude, if we take time out to study while with family, doesn't it? Well i'm gonna talk about that today, and what to do about it.
Well those are just a few, but brain storm up a few yourself! Reading the bible and studying it deeply when you're around people who might not be christian is a chance to share the gospel with them, or even if they don't comment on it, they might see your commitment to God, and re-think their decision. Keep that in mind this Christmas season. Merry Christmas every-quizzer! And happy holidays! :-) Keep calm and quiz on (and out) -Your fellow quizzer |
