Hi guys! I have briefly mentioned the self-award system before, but i didn't go into much depth, so i'm going to dedicate an entire post to that, because it can really help your motivation to keep going with the strenuous task of quizzing. The 'Self-award system' is pretty self explanatory in the fact that you award yourself for completing an activity of some sort. However, there are few people who really do the self-award system correctly, even though there may seam no wrong way to do it, there in fact is. Here are some ways that people mess this amazingly effective system up for themselves frequently;
All of these can turn you off from the self-award system if you do them, because it simply isn't fair. This system does take a lot of won't-power, however, because you will be lining up rewards for yourself that you might have been able to just have anyway at a different selected time before you decided to begin this system of self-motivation. We want to avoid using things that we do or have on a regular basis because they don't excite us well enough to spark the fire of motivation effectively enough to get through another day of the stress and anxiety of quizzing. Here's some ideas for the award;
And, to help you organize all of this, i made a little sheet that you can print out for yourself and use for pretty much any goal-it doesn't have to be quizzing orientated, but that's what it's designed for. It can be reading, memorizing, amount of questions, etc.. This particular file gives four goal sheets a page, because i like to be efficient. Also, i did not put a designated space to put the award, but feel free to do so! I hope this helps you to be a little more kind to yourself if you're usually not, and helps you to be a little harder on yourself if you're usually not. This has helped me even out these mood swings, and get motivated more easily. Make sure to put these charts in the front pocket of your study binder! :-)
Thanks for reading! Keep calm and quiz on (and out) -Your fellow quizzer
