Good morning, quizzers!
Since I love pretty much everything about TBQ and have told you so, I'm going to try and narrow it down to five of my most favorite things, just as a little fun activity for us :-) I have so many great memories from quizzing the past two seasons, It's really very hard to pick and choose. In my room, I have a Quizzing safe-keeping box, in which I have things like past-season materials and tools, presents from my quizzing friends, name tags from previous quizzes, and stuff like that. I did have all my Quizzing personal score sheets in there as well, but since the box wouldn't close any more because it was so full, I decided to make a quizzing memory scrap book. Now I have those, wrist bands from the larger quizzes, motivational quotes, quiz schedule sheets, placing cards, and things like that all organized and in one easy-to-reach book, that I look through whenever I need some motivation, cheering up, or just want to re-visit some of my favorite memories. So here's what I've picked as my top five favorite things about Teen Bible Quizzing:
Be thinking about the things that are your favorite this week! It's a really challenging, yet great exercise to do every once in a while, to reflect on these positive things. I know I've been talking a lot about this, but God has really been laying this on my heart for several months now. Don't esteem Quizzing more than you esteem the things of God. It's like a seesaw; if one end goes up, the other end goes down. We NEED to keep Quizzing on the lower side, so that the things of God will go up, into their rightful place. Some of you might be thinking "Well quizzing is learning God's Word, so that counts as 'the things of God'" Well it doesn't.
I love quizzing probably a lot more than some of the other quizzers, but I'm learning that I need to make sure that I love God and learning about Him (not just learning facts, but understanding, and applying), 100% more than Quizzing. If you can do that, then your life will be prosperous, and you'll have good success (Joshua 1:8). Not trying to pressure, or condemn anyone, but I'm telling you this because I want you to be able to realize how important this is, faster than I did, and not waste any more time esteeming something above God. Thank you for reading, keep calm and quiz on (and out)! Your fellow quizzer, Mallory P.S. IMPORTANT NOTICE: I'm going to begin to Co-author TBQJ with one of my good, good friends who I've known since my very first quiz. She is a fantastic Quizzer, who will be able to come to you with different angles about things, and really deepen the blog's content. She'll be introducing herself here in a few days, so I just wanted to give y'all a little teaser for that upcoming excitement! Thanks friend, for helping me with this!
